Driver Shells and Inserts

Aluminum driver shells thread onto all Cap-Master Capping Machines and accept replaceable urethane, vinyl, and rubber inserts from the list below. A complete range of cap driver shells and renewable driver inserts are kept IN-STOCK. Send sample caps and containers to our engineers at Automation Devices and they will recommend an affordable solution to your cap tightening problem. Occasionally, applications call for a special product. Swan-Matic regularly custom engineers capping equipment to meet the needs of customer's applications. STANDARD DRIVER SHELLS

Always IN-STOCK, they thread onto all SWAN-MATIC Benchtop Capping Machines and accept corresponding standard inserts.

POLYURETHANE

Exhibits excellent wear properties and leaves little to no residue or particulates ensuring an unmarked closure. Durometers up to 80-85 available on request.

Click to enlarge--Long shells are used for a variety of uses including pump sprayers, dropper caps (aka ball syringe caps) and many more.

LONG SHELLS

Optional long shells with rebored inserts are available for brush top, dropper and pump caps.

VINYL

Offers grip on caps where polyurethane may slip. Generally suggested for caps that feature smooth contact surfaces.

HEX OR SQUARE DRIVE

Driver Shells are often fitted with 1/4 inch square or HEX drives to meet customer preferences or to be used in conjunction with existing machinery. Other size drives available on request.

WHITE RUBBER

Often matched to applications with white closures or caps to avoid marking. Suggested for smooth contact surfaces or minor serrations.

Click to Enlarge--Serrated shells are a permanent solution to excessive insert wear. They eliminate the need for replaceable inserts.

SERRATED CAP DRIVER SHELLS

These are an extremely durable solution to caps that cause excessive insert wear. Caps are tightened by grasping cap features or protrusions which eliminates the need for replaceable inserts.

 

WHAT IS DUROMETER?

 Click to enlarge--Black Rubber inserts are a slightly higher durometer and are often chosen for dark colored caps or capping applications.

BLACK RUBBER A slightly higher durometer helps extend life while offering the same level of grip as white. The color makes it ideal for dark colored caps. 

Durometer 60-70

Click to Enlarge--Tan Rubber is the hardest of our Inserts. Often chosen for highly abrasive applications or metal lids.

TAN RUBBER

This is the hardest of the rubber inserts and is suggested for metal caps with serrations or very abrasive applications.

Click to enlarge--Pump Spray inserts are used for pump spray caps that feature enough cap base for the insert to grip and apply torque.

PUMP SPRAY INSERTS

SWAN-MATIC offers standard size pump spray cap inserts as IN-STOCK items. They are designed to work best with pump spray caps featuring bases considerably wider than the protective cap.
